Sustainable Living Festival 2007, 2008 & 2009; Supporting Partner 2009
Background
The Sustainable Living Festival is the flagship event of the Sustainable Living Foundation. The foundation required a Marketing Communications Coordinator to maximise public awareness of the event through mainstream and niche media vehicles, and to attract maximum possible attendance. The role also required supervising a team of volunteers spanning a variety of marketing communications roles.
ZOOiD Role:
- Preparation of a media strategy, including PR and media activities focusing on low cost high impact media vehicles that included outreach to the ‘sustainability aware audience’, the ‘aware but not converted’ audience and those unaware of sustainability
- Creation of media releases targeting specific industry segments and all elements of sustainability
- Media outreach to print, broadcast and online media
- Coordinated media interviews with some of the most respected names in sustainability, including Peter Singer
- Coordinated public relations opportunities
- Created scripts for Community Service Announcements
- Creating partnerships with broadcast media to attract ‘in-kind’ support for the Sustainable Living Foundation as a highly worthwhile not for profit organisation
- Supervision of volunteer staff spanning a variety of marketing communications roles
- Supervision of media internship program ensuring activity was consistent with intern educational requirements
