Communications - 2008 Melbourne Water River Health Youth Conference

Background:

The second Melbourne Water River Health Youth Conference included two days of amazing presentations and workshops at Flemington Racecourse by students from 40 primary and secondary schools across Melbourne.  Students came together to share their vision and concerns about the health of rivers and creeks across the Port Philip and Western Port region and to celebrate World Environment Day. Melbourne Water required a specialist outsourced media consultant.

ZOOiD Role:

1. Prepare general and localised media releases and alerts for two phases of the media outreach program
2. Managed the media outreached program, liaising with local community nespaper groups, metropolitan papers and broadcast media across Melbourne
3. Managed on-site media and coordinated photo shoots

Results:

1. Editorial coverage in many Leader Community Newspaper and Fairfax Community News publications
